Asuncion, Schmitt, Parsons, Vidlund & Schoper make college choices

June 24, 2014
By Fury Staff

It was a very busy week for Minnesota Fury players making college decisions.  Five players from three different Fury teams made verbal commitments over the past 7 days.

Kanani Asuncion, a 5'10" PG from our 2015 Elite team and from Rochester Century is headed to the University of North Dakota.  She will join Jill Morton in the freshman class headed to Grand Forks in the fall of 2015.

Anna Schmitt, a 5'7" G from our 2015 Gold team and Waconia High School chose Concordia-St. Paul in the D2 Northern Sun Conference.  Anne averaged almost 30 PPG as a Junior at Waconia and is having a great season.

Also joining the 2015 recruiting class at Concordia is Nicole Parsons.  Nicole is a 5'11" G from our 2015 Elite team and Chaska High School. She has played with the Fury for three seasons!

The latest addition to the 2015 recruiting class at Concordia is Hanna Vidlund.  Hanna is a 5'11" G from Forest Lake and our 2015 Elite team. Hanna will join Nicole and Anna in the 2015 recruiting Class and will play three years of college basketball with fellow fury alumnae Kayla Miller and Lauren Shifflett.

Last but not least, Lexi Schoper became the first 2016 player in the state of Minnesota to make a college decision.  The 2016 Blue and Mankato West guard chose to stay home and play at Minnesota State - Mankato.  Lexi mentioned that it has been her dream from the time she was a little girl to put on a Maverick uniform!
